Elder Academy @ City University of Hong Kong
In support to the government’s initiative to encourage elders to lead an active and flourishing life, City University of Hong Kong joined the Elder Academy Scheme launched by the Labour and Welfare Bureau and the Elderly Commission in 2008.
In 32nd cohort of Elder Academy at City University of Hong Kong, selected undergraduate courses will be offered by academic units of the University for elders to attend as auditing students. They are not required to submit assignments and attend examinations. Attending courses in our Elder Academy will not lead to any credits/ awards. Students will be provided with a student card to access for accessing learning facilities of the University. Moreover, there will be a Buddy Scheme in which a CityU student will be assigned as a buddy to assist elders to adapt to campus life.
香港城市大學「長者學苑」
為嚮應勞工及福利局和安老事務委員會令長者可以積極樂頤年、活出豐盛人生,香港城市大學於2008年在校內成立「長者學苑」。
第三十二屆香港城市大學「長者學苑」課程由城大學術單位提供個別本科生科目供長者以旁聽生身份修讀。長者學員與本科生一起上課,出席課程及小組討論卻不需要參加任何考核及評估,故此亦不計算任何學位或學分。在學期間,長者學員可享用大學圖書館及電腦設施。同時,每位長者學員均可參與「城大老友記」計劃,由城大學生擔任嚮導,讓長者學員容易適應大學的生活。
