The School of Continuing and Professional Education of the City University of Hong Kong (CityU SCOPE) aspires to be a leading school in professional and lifelong education. Applications are invited for the post of Part-time Course Coordinator of an Applied Learning (ApL) English course in the areas of public relations and marketing.
Duties
- Organizing teaching schedule and moderating teaching materials;
- Serving as the convener for meetings with ApL teachers and staff-student meetings;
- Organizing and conducting guest talks and site visits;
- Participating in meetings with Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority, Education Bureau, and representatives from different secondary schools; and
- Executing the quality assurance mechanisms of CityU SCOPE and the authorities.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree in English linguistics, English literature, English for professional communication or business;
- At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL) or marketing and/ or public relations; and
- Experience in course management at the tertiary or senior secondary level.
Industrial experience in public relations and/or marketing and approved teaching qualifications as stated by the Education Ordinance with a major in English are advantages. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in English teaching, course management, as well as course and assessment design at the tertiary or senior secondary level.
